Stable View’s 6th Annual Oktoberfest, 4* Horse Trials
Join us for Stable View’s annual Oktoberfest (September 27-29, 2019). First run in 2014, each year the intention has been to broaden the appeal of this event as we have gained experience and confidence to take on new challenges. In 2016 we ran Aiken’s first Advanced HT, and in 2017 we added the Intermediate level. This year we are again raising Stable View’s profile by running the first FEI 4*competition in Aiken. We will be hosting CCI-S 2*, 3*, and 4* levels as well as Novice, Training, and Preliminary national levels. Prize money has been set at up to $80,000. Captain Mark Phillips (GBR) and Mogie Bearden-Muller (MD) will design the cross-country courses for this event. Eric Bull is our Course Builder again. Portions of the old course have been freshly sprigged with Celebration Bermuda for the highest quality footing. Chris Barnard (FL) will be designing Stadium for all of the levels.
The international levels will complete the dressage phase on Friday and then the jumping phases on Saturday. The national levels will run as a one-day event on Sunday.
The LEED (Gold) certified Pavilion will welcome Riders, VIP’s, Owners and Spectators. With seating for 200 on two Decks, it will seat an additional 200 in A/C’d comfort on the second floor. On Saturday we invite you to join us in the Pavilion from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM to enjoy premium views for Show Jumping and Cross Country. VIP Tickets are $40 and include lunch catered by Berry’s Catering and the signature drink, the “Horse Treat.” Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be ordered online by visiting VIP ticket order form.
Admission is FREE for spectators. The Vendor Village will be open from 8:00AM to 4:00PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be food vendors, a Kid’s Corner with pony rides, and the Aiken Horse Power Car Show on Saturday. Alcohol tastings are offered by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.
