2017 Season at Stable View Kicks Off with Lower Entry Fees, New Master Rider Series and William Fox-Pitt Clinic!
Stable View is looking forward to the return of the winter season residents and will kick off the 2017 season with several announcements about events being held throughout the month of January.
Lower Entry Fees at January Aiken Opener
In an effort to show continued support of the sport of Eventing, Stable View has structured the January 14th & 15th Aiken Opener to offer competitors approximately 30% off their standard entry fees for all divisions. All levels will run in a one day format with Preliminary and Novice on Saturday, and Training and Beginner Novice running on Sunday. The Aiken Opener will run over the new cross country track and the course design will be appropriate for the first event of the season.
Since the closing date for entries is over the holidays (December 27th), Stable View has also decided to accept entries through January 4th without assessing late fees. Submit Entries Here.
New Master Rider Series Honors Mary Alice Brown, DVM
At the time of her passing in 2011, Dr. Mary Alice Brown was one of only two riders who had competed in Eventing for 55 straight years. In addition, she produced many wonderful horses which were ridden by top riders in the sport, such as Bruce and Buck Davidson, Mike Plumb and Denny Emerson.
The legacy of Dr. Brown is being honored by her friend Lynn Coates Holmes who has generously donated a perpetual trophy. This trophy will be awarded each year in the Master Rider Series to that individual with the lowest cumulative penalty score from the 3 horse trial series in the Beginner Novice division.
The Master Rider Series will kick off at Stable View’s January 31 & Feb 1 Horse Trials and will continue throughout the March and June Horse Trials. The top horse and rider combination at the Beginner Novice level will receive the Mary Alice Brown, DVM Memorial Master Rider Trophy, which will remain on displayed in the new Stable View Pavilion. The winner of the series will take home a crystal trophy and the Attwood Equestrian Surfaces cooler.
Attwood Equestrian Surfaces has generously donated embroidered coolers for the winners of the Beginner Novice, Novice and Training level divisions. All competitors who are 50 years of age or older as of December 31st 2016 are eligible to compete.
Stable View wishes to thank Lynn Coates Holmes for her thoughtful trophy donation and appreciates that Attwood Equestrian Surfaces has joined in the recognition of the Master Rider Series.
